Limehouse Produce has once again kicked off their Citrus Celebration, a promotion designed to showcase Charleston’s amazing chefs and bartenders and what they are doing creatively with citrus. Products like grapefruit, tangerines, meyer lemons, blood oranges, satsumas and more are available from Limehouse for the promotion. The Macintosh submitted a dish, as well as two drinks for the competition and were named as a finalist.
Chef Jeremiah Bacon, of The Macintosh, has submitted his Sautéed Scallops, with Sunchokes, Brussels Sprout Leaves, Fennel, and Blood Orange for the Best Dish.
The Macintosh’s Beverage Director, Cullen Wyatt submitted two drinks for the Best Cocktail. Wyatt’s first submission, The Daniel Larusso, is creation is a light and refreshing gin cocktail with the perfect balance of tart acidity and sweetness. His second cocktail, A Melo Smoke, is a delicious mezcal concoction with a somewhat smokey flavor, as the name suggests.
For the Celebration, people were able to visit the Limehouse Produce website and vote on their favorite dish until February 20. The week of February 23 there will be a panel of judges that visit the top 5 drinks and dishes (as selected by the judges) to taste the items. The two votes will be compiled and one winner will be selected for Best Drink and Best Dish.

1 1/2oz Botanist Gin
1/2 oz Aperol
3/4 oz luxardo maraschino
1 oz satsuma juice
A Melo Smoke
1 1/2 oz Sombra mezcal
1 1/2 oz citramelo juice
1oz simple syrup
10 dashes “Newtonian cran anise ” bitters
Black pepper garnish
